In this hot season, nothing can beat lemonade. We are going to make green tea lemonade which is a pack of health benefits as well. There are plenty of reasons to make it and drink it this hot season. Green tea lemonade is very easy to make at home due to its simple recipe. Secondly the hot season prompts us to drink something cold and here it is. Like green tea, lemon is also rich in antioxidants. It consists of ascorbic acid which helps in detoxing the body. It slows down the symptoms of arthritis and improves immunity. Lemon also increases ones energy levels.
When green tea is combined with lemon juice, it makes the antioxidants in green tea work better so that the body absorbs them well. Body extracts catechins from the green tea and lemon helps the body to do so by 6 times better way. The ta compounds actually inhibits the absorption of food but in this recipe lemon prevents that to happen. Drink it regularly as many times as you can to get best of it. Start the day with early in the morning and cleanse your body from inside daily.
Ingredients:
- 1 green tea bag
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar or honey
- ½ cup boiled water
- Lemon juice
- Lemon zest (optional)
- 8 ounces of cold water
- Ice cubes
- Lemon slices (optional)
- Take about 1/22 cup of water and boil it.
- Add two tbsp. of granulated sugar to this boiling water. If you are using honey, then skip it.
- Once the sugar dissolves, put a green tea bag in the boiling water or add a teaspoon of green tea to it.
- Turn off the flame and keep it aside letting it steep for 3 to 5 minutes.
- Meanwhile take some lemon zest and prepare juice. You can skip the zest if you don’t like it. Prepare some lemon juice.
- Take a glass and filter the tea if you are using green tea leaves instead of bag. Now add some honey and the lemon juice to it. Mix well.
- Pour 8 ounces of ice cold water to this.
- Add few ice cubes and garnish it with lemon slices. Serve chilled.
- If you want to drink it hot, skip adding cold water and use only boiled water instead. Skip adding ice cubes but cold lemonade tastes better.
